AFRICA FASHION RECEPTION 2014 – Abuja, Paris, Montreal

After the successful launch of the Africa Fashion Reception in Paris last year, we are very pleased to announce that the 2014 events holds in Abuja, 3rd – 5th July, Paris & Montreal in September & October respectively. This year’s event will present over 40 designers from over 40 African country in a celebration of cultural diversity with the proud theme ‘Africa is the new inspiration of global fashion’. Only one top designer will be nominated to represent each participating country.
The Federal Government of Nigeria through the Ministry of Tourism, Culture & National Orientation hosts the Africa Fashion Reception in the beautiful city of Abuja, Nigeria 3rd – 5th July, 2014. The Minister, Chief Edem Duke expressed Nigeria’s preparedness to host the event when he played host to the President of World Fashion Week, Paco De Jaimes and other Members of the Board of Governors in his office in Abuja, 25th March, 2014.

NIGERIA FASHION SHOW IN THE LABO ETHNIK SHOW

Legendary Gold Limited presents 2 Nigerian designers at the Labo Ethnik Fashion Show 22nd – 25th May in Paris. We will also be having a 10x10 exhibition space where we will be displaying garments, fashion accessories and lifestyle products from Nigeria.

AFRICA FASHION RECEPTION LAUNCHED IN PARIS

Legendary Gold Limited in collaboration with the World Fashion Organization and the Nigerian Embassy in France launched the Africa Fashion Reception on the 22nd of June, 2013 at the prestigious sale Wagram in Paris. NIGERIA FASHION SHOW AT THE KARACHI FASHION WEEK

Karachi Fashion Week 2013 played host to the Nigeria Fashion Show for the first time. In it, Legendary Gold Limited presented Bayo Adegbe, Creative Director of Modela Couture.

NIGERIA FASHION WEEK 2012

It was 3 unforgettable days of glamour and razzmatazz as Legendary Gold Limited in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Tourism, Culture & National Orientation and the World Fashion Organization hosted in Lagos, Nigeria the 9th edition of the Nigeria Fashion Week in November.
This year’s edition featured 53 designers and 48 exhibitors from 24 countries. It was 3 consecutive days of 2 shows each day (12 noon & 6pm respectively). Some of the designers that showed their collection included Frank Osodi, Adebayo Jones, Kosibah Creation, Mai Atafo, Zizi Cardow, Kiki Kamanu, Alexandro D’amico from Milan, Fred Eboka from Johanesburg, Wangujeans from Copenhague, Estella Couture from Washington DC, Frankoo designs from Darres Salaam, Kipusa Clothing from Nairobi, B’Exotic from Accra, Trinite S.A by Zinnia from Bangkok, Helen Apreala from Milan, Alexandre Alexandre from Maputo, Angybell Creation from Abidjan, Nafytoo from Dakar, Omaks Designs from Washington etc
For the first time in any fashion event in Nigeria, the Nigeria Fashion Week welcomed international buyers. They included the Milan based Camera Buyer Moda who runs over 120 shops in Europe. Also in attendance was the Sak Brand Group which is one of the largest accessory companies in the United States. It has outlets in 4,500 departmental stores in the United States and is sold across the globe in 24 international markets. Some of its outlets includes Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Belk, Neiman, JC Penny, Sears, Nordstrom, Jaks Fifth Avenue etc. Also in attendance was the Australian based TCF Global Group. They have some of the biggest marketing networks in Asia like China, Indonisia, Thailand, the Philippines and around the world.


LEXY MOJO-EYES ADDRESSES FASHION INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, NEW YORK


Lexy Mojo Eyes was invited by the department of International Trade & Marketing of the Fashion Institute of Technology,  New York State University as one of the Panelists with the topic ‘Africa – the Next Emerging Marketplace on Tuesday, October 9th, 2012.

NIGERIA FASHION SHOW IN PARIS

Legendary Gold Limited presented 3 Nigerian designers in the Nigeria Fashion Show which was organised as part of the Ethical Fashion Show in Paris, September, 2012. The designers included Keto Couture, Ogodor and Sally Intiego. The Nigeria Fashion Show team were hosted by the Nigerian Ambassador to France at the Nigerian Embassy.

NIGERIA FASHION SHOW IN DUBLIN

Nigeria  Fashion Show was for the first time held in August 2012 in Dublin, Ireland. It was held as part of the Nigerian Carnival Ireland. It featured exotic designs from Charvid Fashion & Style, Rootz Fashion and Modela couture.


LEXY MOJO EYES ADDRESSED THE UNITED NATIONS.

Following his continuous contribution to the development and growth of African fashion, Lexy Mojo Eyes, President/CEO of Legendary Gold Limited was invited as a VIP Guest Speaker at the United Nations – Commission session in New York. He addressed the seminar on ‘Empowering Creative African Rural Women through Enterprise Development and Global Fashion Opportunities’
The United Nations seminar was co-ordinated by TCF Global, Belmont BEC and BPW International. TCF Global and Belmont BEC are non-profit community organisations committed to assisting creative micro-small businesses and empowering women.

GOING GREEN AT THE NIGERIA FASHION WEEK 2011

Nigeria Fashion Week 2011 featured 42 designers and 39 exhibitors from 22 countries. The highlight of the epic making event was the ‘Going Green Collection’ which presented pieces contributed by the various participating designers. Those pieces were made from recycled materials. LEXY MOJO EYES ADDRESSES INTERNATIONAL FASHION CONFERENCE IN AUSTRALIA
African Fashion Ambassador, Lexy Mojo Eyes, President/CEO of Legendary Gold Limited has been invited to Australia to address the International Fashion Incubators Conference holding in Perth, Australia from 11th – 13th September, 2011.

Lexy is among over 20 fashion leaders from around the world invited to Australia to speak at this international fashion conference. Some of the other speakers includes Susan Langdan, Executive Director, Toronto Fashion Incubator, Prof Karen Webster, Fashion Programme Director, RMIT University, Australia, Sheelagh Wright of Fashion University of the Creative Arts, Kent, Keechea Dixon of Gordon Dixon & Co, New York, Chandrima Chatterjee of the India Apparel Export Promotion Council, Tracy Kenedy, Dunedin Fashion Incubator, New Zealand etc.

From Australia, he goes straight to Gaborone for the Botswana Fashion Week 14th – 18th where he is mentoring the Botswana Fashion Industry. He is a guest at Johannesburg in the South African Fashion Week 23rd – 25th September. Again on the 29th  September, he will be addressing the African Foundation night of the Brooklyn Fashion Weekend, New York to be hosted by MTV.

WORLD FASHION ORGANIZATION APPOINTS OUR CEO:
We are very pleased to inform you all that our President/CEO, Lexy Mojo Eyes was recently appointed member Board of Directors/Governors of the World Fashion Organization. He is presently the only African so appointed. 3 years ago, he was appointed Member of the International Committee of the World Fashion Organization. FASHION FOR CLIMATE CHANGE: Fashion is lifestyle and lifestyle is the environment we live in. We must be able to positively impact on our environment for a better tomorrow. And most importantly, creative people like fashion practitioners and other professionals need a healthy and sustainable environment to excel. It is in recognition of this fact that the Nigeria Fashion Week is joining the rest of the world to advocate for climate change through fashion.

GOING GREEN COLLECTION AT THE NIGERIA FASHION WEEK:The highlight of the Nigeria Fashion Week 2010 is the going green collection. This segment was specially created to draw awareness to climate change. Designers participating in this slot will be using recycled materials to create their collection as against normal fabrics and accessories.

CLIMATE CHANGE AWARENESS WALK AND TREE PLANTING EXERCISE: On the 19th of November which is the last day of the Nigeria Fashion Week is dedicated to climate change awareness walk and tree planting exercise. Those that will be part of this exercise include our local, national and international guests and partners.

The president of the World Fashion Council, Paco De Jaimes inaugurated the World Fashion Week-Nigeria during the Nigeria Fashion Awards held 21st November, 2008 at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja. It was a colorful event that was attended by celebrities from around the country
Nigeria Fashion Show(NFS) lights up Audi Joburg Fashion Week. Legendary Gold Limited kicked off the 2009 fashion season in Nigeria when it presented 4 Nigerian designers on the 22nd January at the Audi Joburg Fashion Week autumn/winter collection in Johannesburg. The designers that showed their collection under the NFS auspices included Modela couture, Ogodor, Beulah creation and Rouge.
