The most anticipated African edition of the Africa Fashion Reception took place in Cairo, Egypt with pomp and pageantry on the 28th October, 2019 at Canrod Hilton Hotel.

This was the first time since its inception the African edition of the AFR was held outside its traditional host place – African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. And this was due to a deal struck between the African Union and our Egyptian host and partners – BPW Africa Business & Professional Women

As usual with all AFR events, the venue was full to capacity with VIP guests from all over the world. Participating designers from around the continent gave a good account of their country’s fashion industry. The event projected the African diversity in its rich dress cultures.

The AFR Cairo had a fantastic host in Dr Amany Asfour who is the International President – International Federation of Business & Professional Women Partners included the AFR official hair partners, Design Essentials who flew a team of hair stylists from the UK to style the hair of the models. Others are Egyptian Ministry of Investment & International Cooperation, African Alliance for Women Empowerment, Ceramica Cleopatra group, Garden Hills, EAC, Ethiopian Airlines, Al Sagheer group, Africa Vision for Trade & Consultancy
